The first time I walked into a Waldorf preschool classroom, I wanted to cry. Truly, when you step into one of the classes, you can see what a nuturing, warm environment it would be for your child. I wish that I had had that experience in my youth at schools! Please take a minute to read this blog interview with Sarah Baldwin at Bella Luna Toys. I had a similar experience the first time I walked into a Waldorf early childhood classroom, Jay Jay. I went to visit the Pasadena Waldorf School, presumably for a kindergarten interview for my son. I had a profound experience stepping into the room with its beautifully painted walls, gorgeous wood toys, silk curtains and the smell of bread backing. "THIS," I thought, "is the right environment for children!" At the time, I had also been thinking about going back to school to become a teacher. It was there and then that I knew what and where I wanted to teach. I ended up enrolling in Waldorf teacher training before my son even made it to kindergarten. A life changing visit, to be sure!
